Finally in the 1950s, the grand old lady was retired and taken south to be a houseboat.

The history of the boat is sketchy during the next 30 years, but she was rediscovered in a very sorry state, lying awash beside a quay.

And there the tale might have ended, but for efforts to replace damaged planking, and make her seaworthy again.

Then 'The SWAN Trust' came on the scene.....

.....and she was brought to Shetland ready for her complete rebirth.
